The Pirates took the lead 3-2 in the 7th Inning and I pinch-hit for Valenzuela who was leading off the Dodger 8th Inning. This seemed to be the Dodgers’ undoing as relievers Zachary and Hooton allowed a run in the 8th Inning and two runs in the 9th Inning. The Pirate bats were patient all game. A combination of badly time Walks and not good fielding by the Dodgers allowed the Pirates to scrape together the final handful of runs. Rhoden was sneakily dominant - he allowed solo homeruns to Landreaux and Guerrero, a triple to Guerrero and double to Brock and then only a solitary single to Steve Sax. This was the second really good start in a row for Rhoden.
