April 24 Chicago White Sox 13 Appling 2-6 Double 2 Runs RBI St. Louis Browns 8 Dillinger 2-5 2 Runs Walk The Browns jumped ahead 2-0 after the First Inning, 5-1 after the Third Inning and led 6-2 after the Fourth Inning and then the wheels came off. Pat Seerey and Tony Lupien homered for the White Sox. Chicago went down in order only once all game - in the Seventh Inning. April 25 - Game One Chicago White Sox 7 Appling 1-3 Triple 2 Walks St. Louis Browns 2 Dillinger 0-4 Error Browns starter Ned Garver looked to give St. Louis a good chance to win against the White Sox and their starter Bill Wight. Don Kolloway dashed those dreams with a lead off home run into the left field seats. Chicago tacked on two more runs in the top of the First Inning and jumped ahead 4-1 after two innings. Garver and Wight then settled down. The White Sox Seventh Inning began with a fly out before Bob Dillinger mishandled a grounder and Wight coaxed a 2-out walk letting Kolloway come to the plate and whack another ball into the bleachers to put the Chicago ahead for good. April 25 - Game Two Chicago White Sox 9 Appling DNP St. Louis Browns 14 Dillinger 2-4 2 Runs RBI Stolen Base 2 Walks The White Sox jumped ahead 1-0 in the top of the First Inning but the Brown responded in their half of the inning and went in front 2-1 before exploding for six runs in the Second Inning behind back-to-back home runs from Whitey Platt and Al Zarilla. Chicago fought back in the Fifth Inning with a Jack Wallaesa three-run home run. St. Louis didn’t falter and added three run in the Sixth Inning and one more run in the Eighth Inning to secure the win.
