The Senators managed only four hits off of Dick Fowler and never threatened to score. Hank Majeski doubled in two in the First Inning for the Athletics and Buddy Rosar sealed the game with a 3-run double in the Fifth Inning.

Philadelphia Athletics 8 Scheib McCosky 3-4 Run RBI Walk
The Senators could only muster two hits on the day and one of those was a solo home run by Stewart in the Sixth Inning. The Athletics pounded out sixteen hits. Sam Chapman went 4-5, belted a 2-run homer, scored twice and drove in three runs.
April 25 - Game 1

Philadelphia Athletics 7 Marchildon McCosky 1-4 Run Strikeout
The Senators jumped ahead 2-0 in the First Inning helped by a triple from Kosar. Sam Chapman blasted the Athletics in front in the Third Inning with a grand slam that chased Early Wynn to the showers. Philadelphia tacked on two more runs in the Fourth Inning to stretch their lead to 7-2. Washington had more in the tank and they plated three runs in the Sixth Inning and added another in the Seventh Inning on a Ferrick triple to bring them within one run at 7-6. Eddie Yost singled in the Ninth Inning but was stranded and the Senators remained winless.
April 25 - Game 2
Washington Senators 2 Masterson Vernon 0-3 Sac
Philadelphia Athletics 2 Coleman McCosky 0-3 Walk
The Senators had Walt Masterson on the mound in the final game of the series in an effort to help Washington pick up its first win of the season. Washington fell behind 2-0 after four innings thanks to a solo home run from Sam Chapman - Chapman’s third straight game with a home run. Washington clawed back into a 2-2 tie in the top of the Sixth Inning behind and RBI single from Junior Wooten. Both teams threatened in the Ninth Inning but each left the go-ahead run stranded at third base.
