Game Seven vs. North Texas State

The Fort Worth Rangers hosted the North Texas State Eagles in a contest that could clearly be called a "Game of Two Halves".

The Eagles took it to the Rangers in the First Half and held a 37-34 lead at the break.
Fort Worth geared up its game in the Second Half, outscoring North Texas State 44-29 on route to a 78-66 win.

Rangers center Dave Scherrer was clearly not himself from the opening tip, scoring only 2 points in the First Half and 4 points the entire game before fouling out with 4:13 left on the game clock. Scherrer was the only Fort Worth player to score in double figures in each of the team's first six games.

The remaining four Rangers starters picked up the slack, however. Point guard Everett Hathaway poured in 22 points, forward Brian King scored 16 points, forward Chris Hathaway scored 12 points and shooting guard Brian Sawyer added 12 points.

North Texas State was led by Morgan who had 19 points and 7 rebounds and Worrell who added 18 points and 5 rebounds.

Game Six @ Kansas State

Forth Worth stayed on the road for their sixth game of the season and took on a very good Kansas State team. The Rangers fell just short in this contest, losing a highly competitive contest 67-64.

Center Dave Scherrer led Fort Worth with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Brian Sawyer added 11 points.  No other Rangers player scored in double-digits.

The Wildcats were led by Scott who scored 20 points during a fantastic performance. Scott was 7 for 7 from the floor (this included 4 of 4 on 3-point shots) and 2 for 2 from the foul line. Richmond added 18 points and 4 assists.

Forth Worth held a 35-30 advantage at Half Time.

Game Five @ Iowa State

The Forth Worth Rangers travelled to Iowa State for their first big road test of the year.

Center Dave Scherrer again led the way for the Rangers with 22 points that included a 7 for 9 day from the floor and an 8 for 8 day from the free throw line. Forward Brian Sawyer added 13 points and point guard Everett Hathaway added 11 points as well as 7 assists. Guard Buddy White came off the bench to add 8 points, going 3 for 3 from the floor and 2 for 2 from the foul line; White also added 4 assists.

Iowa State was led by Grayer and Rhodes who each poured in 25 points.
Grayer was 10 for 16 from the floor and 5 of 6 from the foul line. Rhodes was 11 of 14 from the floor and 1 of 2 on his free throws.

The game was tied at 45 at Half Time.

Game 4 vs. Hardin-Simmons

The Forth Worth Rangers faced a strong test by a game Hardin-Simmons squad, squeaking out a 1-point win, 62-61.

Rangers center Dave Scherrer scored 18 points, forward Brian King added 14 points, guard Jeff Parrish added 10 points. Scherrer and King scored 32 points between them. The other three Fort Worth starters scored a total of only 16 points for the game.

Hardin-Simmons had three players in score in double-figures: Adams scored 18 points, Muldrow scored 15 points and Yancey added 11 points.

Game 3 vs. San Diego State

The game was tied at 29 at Half Time.
The game was tight in the Second Half until Fort Worth pulled away and stretched the lead from the free-throw line.
San Diego State shot 47% from the floor while Forth Worth shot 49% from the floor.

Fort Worth center D. Scherrer earned the season's first double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Rangers had a total of four players who scored in double-figures. 
Guard J. Parrish scored 14 points off the bench, point guard E. Hathaway added 12 points and starting forward B. King poured in 11 points while grabbing 7 rebounds.

McMullen led San Diego State with 15 points. He also pulled down 7 rebounds.
Hawkins, plagued by foul trouble, scored 11 points.

Game Two vs. Arizona State

This game was no contest from the opening tip-off.
The Rangers were ahead 27-3 with twelve minutes to go in the First Half and led 37-19 at Halftime.
The Sun Devils shot only 35% from the floor for the game and only went to the free-throw line 7 times the entire game.

E.Hathaway scored 16 points and went 6 for 6 from the foul line.
D Scherrer added 15 points on 7 for 14 shooting, and also snatched 5 rebounds.
M.Massey came off the Fort Worth bench and sparked for 12 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.

Arizona State was led by Jerome with 11 points, and Johnson with 7 points.
Holloway did not play for the Sun Devils this game due to an ankle injury he suffered in the team's first game.

Game One @ Richmond

The Rangers traveled to Richmond, Virginia to take on the Richmond University Spiders.
The game was a grind, full of inconsistent scoring runs and tight defense from both teams. Fort Worth shot 41% from the floor and while Richmond mustered only 36% shooting the entire afternoon. Free throw shooting put the Rangers over the top as they went 22 for 28 from the line for the game.

Center Dave Scherrer scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the Rangers.
Reserve point guard Jeff Parrish added 13 points on 4 for 5 shooting from the floor and 4 for 6 shooting from the foul line. Starting point guard Everett Hathaway added 10 points and 9 assists.

The Spiders were led by Rice who had 17 points and center Woolfolk who added 16 points.
