WORDS.
I played a lot of Destiny when it was released in 2014.
My buddies and I found it a welcome change from other games we teamed up in and played together on-line. We found it refreshing to play against the game (PvE) instead of against other players (PvP). I liked the open environment, the ability to free-roam and spend whatever amount of time working through story missions, side-quests or even grinding through adventures I’d played before and dropping into public events that were challenging. For me, the goal of Destiny was two-fold: Beat the story and then level-up my character, his weapons, gear and abilities as much as possible - maybe even one day maxing all of it out. Add in the additional DLC, and continue. …and then I burnt out on all of that. Trying to get each and every Exotic weapon and piece of gear and then maxing them out became mind-numbing. Leveling up my Warlock became tedious. The firefights were fun - I think the combat in Destiny is first rate - but the purpose for doing all of just got old. Destiny disappeared from my PS4. Destiny 2 appeared in 2017. I was drawn back into Bungie’s world. I have begun playing this game. My buddies are again playing this game. We are in the same Clan together - again. The combat is fun, the action is good. Small changes in the game and the big world (er universe, er galaxy, er universe) is enjoyable. Blasting the baddies is fun - and they even smack me around a bit. The voice acting is good. The plot is a little more fleshed out (but Destiny games are not about a deep story. I mean, bad space guys are trying to destroy Humanity and Earth in the process or vice versa. That's about it). I am working on completing the story while leveling up my Warlock (he returns from his initial galaxy-saving forray) and then plan on working on getting the best weapons, gear and skills. I also plan on adding the additional DLC. Does this sound familiar? I have to learn all the techniques for leveling up my Warlock, maxing out my weapons and gear and I am enjoying that. Right now...
