WORDS.
If you own a PS4 and want to play on-line against your friends or the rest of the world, a membership to PlayStation Plus is required.
A PlayStation Plus costs $9.99 for one month, $17.99 for three months, or $49.99 for 12 months. A PlayStation Plus memberships earns a member access to two free, downloadable PS4 games per month. PlayStation Network is offering an additional free, downloadable game along with the the usual two free games for July 2016; These three games are: Paragon, Furi and Saints Row IV: Gat Out of Hell. Paragon - a MOBA game (Multiplayer On-Line Battle Arena) game. The goal in this game is to defeat opposing players in multiplayer battles by killing them. ESRB Rating: Teen - Violence Furi - a top-down action game. The goal in this game is to defeat all of your computer controlled opponents by killing them. ESRB Rating: Mature - Violence. Strong Language Saints Row IV: Gat Outta Hell - a third-person action game. The goal in this game is defeat computer controlled demons and other bad guys by killing them while you clean out Hell itself and ultimately depose Satan. ESRB Rating: Mature - Sexual Themes. Violence. Strong Language. Blood and Gore. Partial Nudity. (Note: The official website of the game is not accessible directly - an age verification is required to reach the webpage. There is no such age verification required to download this, or any other game onto one's PS4 from the PlayStation Store.) I have included links to the official PlayStation Network websites for each game, each game’s official website, a video for each game and a written review for each game at then end of this post so you will be able to see and read all of the information necessary for these free, downloadable games. I don’t understand why, with such a great amount of games available for the PS4, PlayStation Network has chosen these three games to offer free to all of their members in the month of July 2016. Two of the three games are Rated M (17+ years old). Violence is rated in each of these games. Strong language is rated in two of them. Much worse is also rated in one of them. Any person under the age of 17 could not purchase these free games for July games on their own in a store without their parent/guardian’s permission - yet PlayStation Network deems it just fine to make these two games available for download directly into any person’s living room/den/bedroom at a click of a button. Parents/Guardians are ultimately responsible for their children and the games they play - but I certainly think in this case PlayStation Network needs to be more responsible with the products it offers anyone and everyone for free. ==================== Game information links: Paragon PlayStation Network Page Official Site Gameplay Trailer Review Furi Playstation Network Page Official Site Announcement Trailer Review Saints Row IV: Gat Outta Hell PlayStation Network Page Official Site Announcement Video Review ==================== In the interest of fairness I looked back to the free games PlayStation Network offered last month, June 2016. The two games offered were: NBA2016 - a sports simulation game. Gone Home: The Console Edition - a story exploration game. NBA 2K16 ESRB: Rated E. Mild Suggestive Themes. Mild Language. Violent References. Alcohol Reference. Gone Home: Console Edition ESRB: Rated M - Sexual Themes. Strong Language. Drug Reference. One free game for June 2016 was rated M. The other free game was rated E, but still contained a few issues - which surprised me. =================== Here is a link to a complete list of all free, downloadable games offered by PlayStation Network in North America for the life of the this practice: List of Free Play Station Network Games.
