To LeBron Or Not LeBron and Chatting About It

The sports media world spent what felt like a month reporting on what LeBron James was going to do with his career, what team he was going to sign a new contract with and what teams he was not going to sign a new contract with.
I actually would not call what the sports media did as “reporting”. 
What the sports media did concerning what LeBron James was doing was giving their opinions. 

Hours and hours and hours of radio, television, internet and print time was used up discussing what the man might do. More hours were spent discussing what the man had not done yet. More hours still were used up discussing what in fact no one yet knew about what LeBron James was going to do. I have a better understanding of why the sports media does this all of the time now: My buddies and your buddies can do the same thing - and we do the same thing all the time - we too, can discuss what may happen, what hasn’t happened yet and what we truly don’t know about what may happen. 

I think the key element in all of this is to get a job in the sports media so someone pays you real and not speculative money for doing it.
